The path of Francis 2025

On the now canonical days of September 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, the traditional walking pilgrimage from Assisi to Gubbio, “The Path of Francis,” returns. This three-day trek in the footsteps of the Poverello, retracing the route taken by the Saint in the winter of 1206-1207, following his radical decision to “renunciate” and renounce paternal authority.
This initiative, promoted by the Dioceses of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino and Gubbio-Città di Castello-Umbertide and Cantiano, with the patronage of the Municipalities of Assisi, Gubbio, and Valfabbrica, has reached its 17th edition and has won a place in the hearts of Umbrians and the numerous pilgrims and enthusiasts of religious walks who have participated over time.
A pilgrimage is, in fact, both a spiritual and geographical journey, undertaken in the company of many people to share an experience of spirituality and closeness to Creation, leaving behind worries and a frenetic pace.
