This year, the traditional May events will once again be enriched by Brocche d’Autore, the contemporary ceramic art exhibition organized by the Maggio Eugubino Association based on a proposal by Ettore A. Sannipoli. This will mark the twenty-fifth edition of this event, created to highlight the relationship between contemporary ceramic art and the Ceri through the creation of a specific and characteristic piece of Gubbio majolica: the jugs of May 15th. Katia Baldelli from Gubbio, Giorgio Crisafi from Todi, and Alfredo Gioventù from Sestri will be given the opportunity to freely interpret the forms and decorations of these “ritual containers,” thus continuing the in-depth exploration of expressive and semantic themes that have benefited over time from the taste and creativity of many contemporary ceramists, as evidenced by the rich collection that Brocche d’Autore has bestowed on Gubbio over the years, but which still awaits a worthy museum display.
