Descent of the “Ceri” – First Sunday of May

It is the prelude to the Festa dei Ceri, which takes place every year on May 15th and already shares its enthusiasm and atmosphere.
The Ceri, which are kept throughout the year in the right nave of the Basilica of Sant’Ubaldo atop Mount Ingino, are carried into the city in a procession, horizontally positioned; it is customary to place children dressed in characteristic and colorful uniforms astride them.
After a route through the city, the Ceri, accompanied by the Band, Drummers, and representatives of the City and the Ceri families, are placed in the Arengo Hall in the Palazzo dei Consoli until May 15th.
