Camaldolese Way of Saint Benedict

For lovers of pilgrimages and spiritual walks, another recently inaugurated route is the Camaldolese Way of Saint Benedict, which connects the Monastery of Montecorona to Fonte Avellana.
The stages of this journey are: from the Abbey of Montecorona to San Benedetto Vecchio, from there to Serra di Burano, then to Chiaserna, and finally from Chiaserna to Fonte Avellana.

The total distance is approximately 80 km.

Itinerary of the Spirit

This route, which can also be done by car, covers approximately 40 km from Fonte Avellana to the municipality of Scheggia and Pascelupo. The roads are very low-traffic and cross the Umbrian-Marchean ridge through rocky gorges and landscapes of rare beauty.
In addition to unspoiled nature, the itinerary includes visits to some evocative rural abbeys and churches: Abbey of Sitria, Abbey of Sant’Emiliano in Congiuntoli, and the Hermitage of Saint Jerome.
